Woah Dude!

Where in the world does the time go? Really, I need to know this now because it is slipping away from me soooo fast! I could've sworn that I just updated you guys (if anyone reads this) like last week.  Gosh, so much has happened to re-catch you up on!

So...where do I start?

Two weeks ago, my wonderful sister, sister-in-law, and cousin (she could be my sister too) and their husbands hosted mine and Colten's engagement party! It was tons of fun, but goodness gracious I was soooooooooooooo overwhelmed! I never knew that being a bride was so much work! I wanted to visit with everyone there since most of us have big kid jobs and don't see each other much anymore but Holy Moly! It was impossible to mingle like I wanted to! And me, being the terrible picture taker that I am, didn't get pictures with lots of people that I wanted them with.  So, sorry peeps. It was my bad.  I really tried to talk to everyone.  Scouts honor.  It wasn't until the next morning that I realized how oblivious I was to my surroundings, due to my overwhelmed state.  And oh yeah...the party was to celebrate Colten and I getting engaged, good thing it wasn't for us to show off how much we liked each other because I think we only managed to speak to each other a couple of times when we deliberately found the other one...another thing I didn't know about being a bride...my fiance and I get separated more and more! I swear we've spent less time together since we got engaged than before.  Oh well...I'll be living with him soon and probably see more of him than I want sometime! Ha...just kidding guys! Wait...I have to live with a BOY?!? THAT will be a whole different post.  One dedicated to just that.  Look for it. 

Moving on...

 Our house.  Oh goodness, our house.  I'm learning alot.  For instance...it takes A LOT of work to turn a house into a home.  A-WHOLE-FREAKIN'-LOT! We still aren't finished with it and all we really had to do was paint the inside.  We're making progress, just very SLOOOOW progress. And if you know me, I wasn't blessed with a barrell full of patience. But, I'll post before and after pics because it's gonna be cute...whenever we get it done. 

On to the next subject : the honeymoon.

Well, since we got engaged (ok, maybe before we got engaged...waaayyyy before) I've been wanting to go to St. Lucia on our honeymoon.  It's one of my dream vacation spots.  Seriously, it looks like paradise.  So anyway...I voiced this to Colt and then he gave me a budget.  We got to looking into my dream and realized that it was slightly over our budget.  I was bummed, depressed, sad, heartbroken...blah blah blah. So my wonderful fiance did a little figuring and a little more searching.  And my prince has come through! Our honeymoon is booked! YAAAYYY! And the best part.....we ARE getting to go to ST. LUCIA!!!!!!! I'm thrilled, beyond thrilled actually! But wait, Colten then says...well how would you feel about this__________? Oh no. OH NO! See, Colt, well he likes to solve problems or figure out ways to save money or make money or fix something so I knew this was going somewhere towards a hairbrained idea...(because that's what his ideas usually are) So in my most monotoned/aggravated voice I simply say "what." He says...What do you think about staying until saturday instead of friday? (My ears perk) We'll leave Memphis and fly to Miami on Sunday, stay in Miami Sunday night and get to St. Lucia by 1:00 Monday afternoon.  (I'm thinking) At first, I was like crap.  Are ya freakin' kiddin' me!? But then I think...hmmm...I've never been to Miami. I bet there are good places to shop there...lots of good restaurants...famous beaches...hmmm...this is sounding better...OK! I'm sold! I tell him sure, that was fine with me (nonchalantly, of course) and the whole time I'm thinking HECK YEAH...PARTY IN MIAMI!!!!! I'll share those feelings with him closer to time to go.  No need to get him too excited.  Ha!  I just rambled but the point...the honeymoon is booked to St. Lucia! Plus we're staying in Miami for a night and I get an extra day of vacation...sweet.  Come on May!

Have I told you that I could've gotten married in like 3 months? I don't know how people are engaged for a year or more.  I'm going nuts and stressed the heck out and I'm not even doing anything.  Last minute details haven't even started pressing down on me! We've got a long way to go!

And now, I'm caught up to this week.  Wednesday was my birthday.  24th birthday.  It almost sucked as bad as my 21st. I'm not really into this whole growing old thing, but as they say...its better than dying young! I've somehow talked Colten into going to Memphis this weekend to see Wicked: the Musical.  I think I lured him in with a promise involving good food. But I. Am. So. Excited. About the show!

 I will post pics of everything we've had going on lately as soon as I can get my computer to work again...maybe.  :)

What's New?

I've decided that I'm not the best bride.  I really don't know when all the stuff that has to be done, is supposed to be done.  I know there are checklists but everyone does it different.  But anyway...it will all get done! We've been working on the new house, and its starting to look like a home! :) I'm so excited! I'm also ready to just move in!

Our engagement party is in a week and a half! I'm excited about it too, I'll get to see some friends that I don't get to see often, and I will be meeting some of Colten's friends for the first time!

Not a whole lot going on these days, but then again it seems like I have no time for anything! That's life I guess.
